The Regional Basketball Tournament was hosted at the University of Georgia in Athens on February 21st-23rd. We had 30 officials and 3 of which received bids to the National Tournament in Wichita, Kansas. The three officials were Danny Kandell from University of Central Florida, Cierra Crowe from University of Kentucky, and Nick Zivkovic from University of Florida. There were 40 teams that came from across the Region. The winner out of the women’s bracket was Georgia Tech. The women’s All-Tournament Team goes as follows; Hallie Wachsmuth for UGA, Samantha Pringle from Mercer University, Tobi Woghiren from Mercer University, Jennifer Harvey from Georgia Tech, and the tournament MVP was Molly Williams from Georgia Tech. The winner of the men’s bracket was Georgia College. The men’s All-Tournament Team goes as follows; Gideon Burras from Columbus States University, Christian Ndubuisi from Gordon State College, Immanuel Davis from Gordon State College, Chapin Rierson from Georgia College, and the tournament MVP was Brian Andrews from Georgia College. At the tournament we sold shirts that were donated for the Sarah Fain Scholarship which raised $315 dollars for the scholarship over the weekend.
