As we look forward to the 2020 Annual Conference in Phoenix, Arizona I wanted to take an opportunity to look back at the 2019 Region II Conference. This year’s conference was a success regarding the educational opportunities available to attendees. The feedback from the conference satisfaction survey showed people thought the conference was well run and offered great value for their individual professional and personal development.

Also, this year marked the kickoff of a Region II Career Services Center and was a tremendous opportunity. The 2019 CSC was so successful we needed to find a larger space to hold the event at the 2020 Region II Conference.

While the Regional Conference was an overall success, I wanted to update everyone on the financial picture for the Region. Due to unforeseen circumstances the regional conference had a $11,185.34 shortfall. Thanks to our Financial Planning Principles our Contingency Fund was able to withstand the shortfall. Our Contingency Fund is now funded at a level of $9,807.33 which is over the $8,000 level required.  We have put specific measures in place to ensure the 2020 Regional Conference is both educationally and financially successful.

I share your concern in ensuring Region II continues to be in a strong financial situation and I think our plans moving forward provide the appropriate security.

Thank you for attending the Regional Conference and we look forward to seeing everyone in April in Phoenix!
